Tarpon

Let’s be honest, tarpon are the main event. There is nothing in the world quite like a jumping tarpon. For such a large fish, they are willing to take a fly because tarpon have a tendency to eat small bait fish. If your dream is to catch a tarpon on fly, Captain Chris will do his best to make it a reality.

Redfish

Redfish are Captain Chris’s personal favorite to catch in The Everglades and Pine Island Sound. The flats and mangroves of SWFL are covered with redfish. On certain tides, our redfish eat flies with their back out of the water. A well placed cast generally entices a fish to eat and the fight is on! Redfish fight like NFL fullbacks - no searing runs, but they will wear you out on a 7 seven weight. When the tides are right, you will generally get MANY shots at redfish.

Snook

Snook are one of the fiercest fish you will find on flats anywhere. SWFL is arguably the world’s best snook fishery. We have them in vast numbers and an array of sizes. Despite snook’s aggressiveness, they can be a challenge to entice to eat a fly. Perseverance usually pays off and patient anglers generally tap into the snook’s predatory nature and get one to grab a fly. The fun has just started at that point. Snook will do anything they can to get back into the mangroves and it can be a royal rumble to keep them from popping off.
